Conventions of news texts


The conventions of a teen news programme:

The titles of the programme are very bright colours and vivid and cartoon like graphics which have bubbles around also a showing a long strip that travels around fast, they are in in green and purple colours. No images in the title sequence.

Also the reporters are wearing causal clothing and have a mixture of ethnicity and Non-formal language and reporters are aged in late 20s.

The mise -en-scene of the programme is cartoon like of purple and yellow. Which have a cut way straight to the headlines and images locally from around the world and local images of the public and of the story.

The sound has a theme music throughout the whole of the programme which is up tempo and drum beat.

The camera work is unconventional, angles and movement

The brand identity of the programme is the NR initials spinning around the left side and logo animated.

The local news conventions of BBC news the titles are red and white and with iconic news items from London.

The reporters have well spoken English accidents and have a mixture of ethnicity. The age of them are between 30-40 yrs.

The mise-en-scene of the programme has red iconic background and graphics. In the setting there is a table, chair with reporter in the left hand side of the screen. Also with a screen showing the images of the story involved. Also the information bar on each story which has the subtitle of the name of the story and interviewees names which is is in red.

The sound in the open sequence has a high tempo drum beat and digetic sound and news reporters voices.

The camera work has plain and still and unobtrusive shots and straight cuts.

Also the brand identity is the theme of red and circled graphics and images of iconic London images.

For my own news programme the conventions that I will use is in my title sequence I will have local images from Stoke Newington in dark and light blue colours surrounding a clock showing the time of 6 pm.

My reporters will be wearing a mixture smart and causal clothing and with non-formal language. I will have a mixture of different ethnicity and aged between 17-20 yrs old.

The mise-en-scene of the programme has will have blue iconic background and graphics. In the setting there will be a table, two chair with the news readers in the middle of scene. Also in the background showing a screen showing images of the story involved. Also the information bar on each story which has the subtitle of the name of the story and interviewees names which is is in dark and light blue.

The sound in the open sequence will have high tempo music and will have digetic sound from the outside. Also news reporters voices and interviewers.

The camera work has pain and still and unobtrusive shots and straight cuts.

The brand identity of the programme is for people who are very active and like a social life which are students and also who are studying and like to learn. Also news that is involved around Stoke Newington.

Also my name of my programme has changed from Dagger head to F27 news so it fits more into the conventions of a news programme. Also the target audience age group has changed to 16-20 which involves sixth formers and university students.
